Sneak peek future projects

Like many crafters I have a queue of projects on the go and planned into the future. Actually my future project wishlist is a little out of control!

But here is a peek at some of the materials I hope to be working with in the next month

I love the Boho range – this will be a quilt and maybe some placemats with the scraps.

English Paper Piecing and Hexies, this will be a labour of love. I’m hoping that the plan in my head will come together in the execution of this one.

Something for Charlie

A little while ago a lovely friend of mine had a sweet baby called Charlie. I decided to make a quilt to welcome him to the world and have been a little sidetracked until now. My plan is now to get it done before he starts crawling (so I have some time up my sleeve).

A sweet little cot sized quilt made from the Apple Jack line from Moda.

Cappuccino decided to help during the planning phase.

A little chain piecing and the centre panel was done! So quick, I never knew what I was missing until I tried it, chain piecing saves an bundle of time.

A quilt for Master 2 – Fin

It was a fine windy dry season day here in the tropics so I popped the quilt in the machine for a wash and line dry. My darling Mr decided to hang it out for me as I was dealing with a sick Master 2.

Needless to say we had a chat about hanging quilts out on the line when I eventually made it downstairs to find this…..

Which resulted in the nice clothes line mark you see in this (which is also my first picture of the pieced back – looks pretty good I think!)

All’s well that ends well – lesson learnt and I am grateful for the Mr as he really is a good egg.

Apples Part 2

Just in case you thought I had forgotten! (Well I kind of forgot to blog it, but I didnt forget to sew it!)

My first ever Jelly Roll Race Quilt top is done and waiting for a back before I can finish it off.

I am quite pleased – love the colour combo and its a super easy quilt top.

Should be the next to be quilted, and will be good for some straight line quilting practice.

Half Moon Modern Chevrons Part 1

And so on to the next project!

Chevrons are everywhere right now and this is a quick and easy quilt I am piecing up using this tutorial from the Moda Bake Shop http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/01/patchwork-chevron-quilt.html

Progress so far

And a play with the layout

This will be sit in the UFO pile for a bit, while I wait for my free motion quilting foot to arrive. I’m a little excited to give FMQ a crack!

A quilt for Master 2 Part 3 – Quilted!

Ten solid hours of quilting and its done! Some slight wonk on some of the lines, but pretty pleased with how it has turned out. Straight line quilting is a lot harder than you might think, as I found out.

Just adding the orange binding now – which really pops. Hopefully will be able to post the finished product later this week, hand sewing is not my favorite part of quilting.
